Challenge

The global battery industry, projected to grow to $424 billion by 2030 with demand increasing 18-fold, faces significant challenges, including inefficiencies in production, cost-effectiveness, low margins, and supply chain vulnerabilities.

As the world transitions to renewable energy and electric vehicles, safety, performance, and environmental limitations further constrain existing battery technologies. These challenges create significant barriers to decarbonisation. Addressing them is essential to enable the widespread adoption of renewable energy and scale electric vehicle deployment—both critical for achieving global climate goals.
