Italian long-duration energy storage company Energy Dome will establish its new APAC headquarters in Melbourne.

Energy Dome comes to Melbourne

An Italian world-leading tech company, Energy Dome, is to bring their business and world-leading energy storage technology to Melbourne - creating jobs and backing industries that will drive the city and state forward.

Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson announced that Italian tech company Energy Dome has chosen Melbourne to establish its APAC Headquarters and bring its world-leading energy storage technology to Victoria.

Energy Dome’s CO2 Battery can store large amounts of intermittent renewable energy, which is well-suited for regions transitioning away from coal-fired power and with significant industrial energy demands.

The company is also working to identify potential sites across Victoria to house its CO2 Battery technology. This is set to boost long duration energy storage capacity, local supply chains and sustainability in Victoria’s local energy industry.

Established in Milan in 2020, Energy Dome is close to completing its full scale CO2 Battery plant in Sardinia in addition to securing multiple commercial contracts for CO2 Batteries to be deployed in the USA and India.

Bringing Energy Dome’s APAC Headquarters to Melbourne builds on the strong relationship and economic partnership between Milan and Melbourne.

The Victorian Government is creating jobs, increasing innovation and attracting investment into the state through a range of initiatives including startup agency LaunchVic, Breakthrough Victoria, Invest Victoria and the Victorian Government Trade and Investment Network.

The Victorian Government has set world leading targets to achieve net zero emissions by 2045 which will also help create 59,000 jobs.

“Victoria is open for business – Energy Dome calling Victoria home will bring world leading technology to Melbourne, create more jobs for Victorians and contribute to our economic growth.” -Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson
