Australia’s $15b National Reconstruction Fund Corporation is now accepting proposals
designed to diversify our economy the NRFC will accept proposals in 7 key priority areas: 
 

  1. Value-add resources 
  2. Value-add agriculture, fisheries and forestry 
  3. Transport 
  4. Medical sciences 
  5. Renewables and low emission technologies 
  6. Defence capabilities 
  7. Enabling capabilities 

Their investment mandate includes:

  • Decarbonisation
  • Commercialising Australian innovation and technology
  • Improving economic participation by historically underrepresented groups
  • Sustainability and circular economy principles and solutions
  • Regional development
     

At the 2024 Climate Investor Forum at the MCG in March, Chair of the NRFC, Martijn Wilder said he intends to the fund to act as a catalyst to crowd in private capital and bring more investment to Australia. And pointed to the fact that proposals that demonstrate greater positive impacts will be highly regarded! 

The NRFC has broad power to provide financial accommodations including:

  • debt
  • equity
  • guarantees
